September 21, 2000, a friend who is a Norfolk Southern employee called me and informed me of an unusual locomotive on a train coming through Toledo. The Wisconsin Central F45 6655 which was designed for passenger train service was one of ten WC units on six month lease to Norfolk Southern to help them get through the fall peak season. This photo was shot at Millbury, Ohio with the WC 6655 and NS 1618, an SD40, on NS train 22N.

The April 2004 issue of CTC BOARD magazine states that in January of 2004 the WC F45 6655 was seen at LT&E in Ohio where it would likely be scrapped.
